Chicahua and Patli

Meet Chicahua and Patli, my second entry for 's Bacabello contest

Chicahua is the son of a nomad stallion that met his mother while wandering and captured her heart. They had a brief fling, but his drive to see new places took him away. Shortly after he left, she realized she was pregnant. She was unable to find him and ended up raising Chicahua on her own. Scorned for being unable to keep the stallion around, Chicahua and his mother lived a fairly solitary life. Growing up without a father, Chicahua dreamed of finding his father. Once he reached maturity he left his mom to go wandering, hoping to find his father. Along the way he runs into Akhalaia. Much like his father, Chicahua falls for Akhalaia. Unlike his father, Chicahua stayed with Akhalaia, his love overcoming his wanderlust. The string of Jade beads he wears on his front left were given to him by his mother, they were the only thing she had left from his father. The ruby earring was a gift from his mother once he came of age

Chicahua - Black and White paint Aurel stallion, his name means "strong." He is not signed. He has the ability find water, not the strongest of abilities, but it comes in handy when wandering in unknown territory. He also has the ability to force limited plant growth, again not horribly impressive, but extremely useful when lost in an area when there's not enough food to sustain him.

Chicahua and Akhalaia's daughter is Patli, a brown and white paint cobalt bacabello. She inherited her mother's healing ability along with her father's ability to find water and force grow plants. Her name means 'healer.' She is a relatively more social individual than Chicahua. She tends to freely use her abilities to help others. Having grown up hearing the story of her father's father, she shares the urge to find him. The Jade beads Patli wears were a birthing gift.
