...in Imax 3D is beyond epic!  My dad took a friend of mine and I to see JP when it first was in theaters.  We were probably (definitely) too young to see it, but I was (and still are!) massively obsessed with dinosaurs and begged until he got sick of listening to me.  So 20 years (gasp!) later my husband surprised me with tickets to see it in Imax 3D tonight and it was absolutely amazing.  Still geeking out about it 3 hours later.  Seriously, even if you've seen it before, it's so much better on the big screen.  I mean it's DINOSAURS!  RAWR!  :D

And to tell you how much I love this movie, when I was growing up and it came time to choose and instrument to learn for band (it was pretty much mandatory)  I chose trumpet because it carried the melody in most of the JP theme (one of the best instrumental songs ever as far as I'm concerned!).  And I can probably still play the theme on the piano, I had it memorized a year after the movie came out. . . . wow I'm a nerd!

And nope, still don't care how much of a nerd I am!  Still working on the then/now redo.  Stupid background!!!

So for Some unknown reason I got the urge to do/redo an old picture. And holy cow! Looking back I didn't think I had improved.  I was massively wrong! Any guesses what I decided to re-visit?

P.S. -l got really sick of that old journal. I'm alive, I swear!

We bought a house!  :w00t:  And now we're in the process of moving...not so yay.  I'll most likely be MIA for awhile yet, go figure.  Maybe at some point life will slow down and I can get back to having hobbies.

So my husband and I are in Calgary this week visiting his parents.  Yesterday was my birthday and we spent the day at the 100th Anniversary of the Calgary stampede.  Epic birthday.  Will be MIA this week, but expect pictures!  (I'm only up to about 1600 taken so far!)

So life has been kicking my ass recently.  Sorry.  My husband and I are attempting to buy our first house, and that requires a lot of planning, effort, stress, etc.  I just hope everything goes smoothly from here and I don't end up regretting this a year or so down the road.  But the good news is I may shortly have my own work space/room!  Really other than that and work (and painfully stupid people), not much new.  And woo!  I topped 13K pageviews!  Thanks all!

So, I didn't realize how neon PINK MLP G1 Best Wishes is until I started de-flocking her.  Awesomeness!  Now I just need to find a trick of getting stubborn flocking and glue off the painted areas, re-hair her, and she'll be ready for display.  I also have 2 customs waiting for new hair.  Can you tell what my new obsession is?

I was getting sad seeing my last journal every time I'm here, so here's a generic change.  Nothing new to report other than I get to get dressed up as a fae in the near future, will be trying to make an appropriate mask to wear.  No ideas yet.

The day started out like a normal day.  After I got back to work from lunch, I had flowers from my husband waiting.  We've been dating 10 years today.  After I got home from work, I got a call from my mom.  My Uncle Tom passed away today.  He was one of the healthiest and most amazing people I know.  What a crappy evening.

I have a lovely throat/sinus cold, got bad enough I went to the pharmacy and stood in line for the 'good stuff.'  The nice thing about pseudoephedrine, I am like the enegizer bunny on speed!

I have a bid up on ebay for a lot of 5 G1 MLP's that are pretty rough.  I'm excited because this is going to be a great excuse to try some basic customization.  The real reason I'm bidding on it is because it has a pretty rough MLP Brother in it I was to customize into the Gypsy MLP I drew for last year's Holiday picture.  [link]

The awesome thing is I'll have 4 more to try!  :w00t:  I'm thinking of making one of the TMNT MLP's, the swan MLP and I'm not sure what else.

I've been able to knit about 2 skeins of a baby blanket I'm making for a coworker this weekend and I've finished a traditional art jam piece with :icondarkriver4: I'm currently making home made chicken fingers, mashed potatoes with homemade gravy and creme brulee! Not to mention I've been on call all weekend!

See what I mean?  Pseudoephedrine + me = energizer bunny on speed!

Edit:  WOO!  I won the ponies!!! :boogie::boogie::boogie:

So life has at least gotten better since the last post.  Christmas is just around the corner, and cheerful Christmas music always helps.  My husband surprised me with a new camera.  *insert squealing like a little girl*  He got me a Pentax K-r with all the goodies.  So I'll probably be posting more photography in the near future.  What was really amusing to me, he gave it to me this week and his reasoning.  We had decided that we weren't going to get each other Christmas presents because we had to spend a good deal of money on a few necessities.  So he reasoned he was getting me necessary 'tools' to help document our 'hopefully long life together.'  He had a whole planned out speech and everything, and he ended it with "And you can't be mad at me because it's not a Christmas present."  LOL!  Too cute. :D  I have a ceramic nativity set on the way and should get that tomorrow, and finally got up the nerve to try a wire wrapped pendant.  Not spectacular, but not bad for a first go.  Will post pictures at some point.  Had a crappy day at work, but I at least got to end it seeing a really cute 8 week hold hedgehog.  Also did my first bladder surgery on a cat earlier this week, and he got to go home today.  Always a good feeling.  Now I'm just praying I don't see him again any time soon.  Also, this weekend is a long weekend off, always a mood booster.  Take care, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Crappy night of sleep, crappy day at work, can't find the paint I need (and know I have) to work on my ceramics, and to top it all off, my betta of four years died.  Crappy crappy crappy day.

Edit - And the crappy weekend continues, got a call from the lady that was kind enough to give my cockatiel a new home (he hated my husband with a passion), and Athena was found dead this morning.  18 years is a long time for a cockatiel, but still sucks.

PS - Is it sad that I don't have to change the "watching" part of the journal from the last time I updated my journal???

So, just as I was getting back into the swing of things and working on projects, my gorram laptop's motherboard crashes and burns.  I had something to contribute to :iconhalloweenjampiece-10: and that's lost.  So new laptop's ordered, but it's going to be near a month before it gets here.  So until later...

Edit: So my computer came 3 weeks early!  *woot* :w00t:  Will hopefully get adobe set up and eventually files recovered from the old laptop.  So hopefully I'll be back sooner than expected :D

The wedding went stunningly.  The decorations were beautiful, the turn out was insane (we had over 300 guests!), and the few hiccups were easily fixed.  The funniest story of the day was that my garter got thrown out accidentally the night before.  We figured this out an hour before the wedding.  My cousin went to a local flower shop and brought back elastic, lace, and a sewing kit.  I filched some ribbon from the flower girl's bouquets and a few rhinestones from my bouquet and whipped up a garter while the photographer was taking pictures of my husband and the groomsmen!  The weather was perfect, my parents surprised me with a black Percheron driven carriage, and we had so much fun.  The honeymoon was a dream.  The weather was wonderful, snorkeling in Freeport, Bahamas was one of the coolest things I've ever done, and I just can't say enough good things about it.  Hopefully now that I'm back, things will start getting back to normal and I'll be able to post some stuff soon.

Take care!

Yeah, it sucks.  I go from 3 weeks of a nasty stomach/GI virus to a week and a half of a chest/sinus infection.  WTF immune system, kick it up a notch.  The really awesome part?  I got bitten by an unvaccinated cat at work.  At least I've been vaccinated, now I'm just waiting for a nice abscess to form.  :shakefist:

Love. Can know all the math in the 'verse but take a boat in the air that you don't love? She'll shake you off just as sure as a turn in the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down...tell you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens...makes her a home.

Nothing new to add, just got bored at looking at the old journal.  I <3 Firefly

Random side note:  I kind of wish I could pull of flaming fire engine red lipstick without either looking like a kid that's been playing in her mother's makeup or a hooker.
